Venice Police Explorer Post 86 was established in 1980 in association with the Boy Scouts of America. Its purpose is to bring together law enforcement officers and youth with an interest in law enforcement as a possible career. The hands-on program is for young men and women, ages 14 - 18. Explorers are taught basic skills from report writing to traffic stops, and how to solve crimes that officers deal with on a day-to-day basis.
