EXPLORER MEETINGS We welcome young people, ages 13 - 18, to become a member of our Venice Police Explorer Post 86 family. For more information contact the Venice Police Department at (94) 486-2444 or stop by the Venice Police Station at 1350 Ridgewood Ave. Meetings are held on Tuesday nights from 6 - 8:30 p.m. at the R.V. Waymire Training Center, located in Wellfield park at 1450 Lucaya Ave. WORK DETAILS Explorers work security details where they perform police activities, doing all the work from beginning to end. Explorers also do community service activities such as parades, fingerprinting, and bike registrations. DELEGATE MEETINGS The Venice Police Explorer Post 86 is a member of the Police Explorer Association. They attend delegate meetings all over the state of Florida and compete against other Explorer posts for state and national ranking. SCHOLARSHIPS Several college scholarships are offered through the Boy Scouts of America. The Venice post offers a scholarship to seniors who have been with the program for 2 years.
